Dopium Cat’s Claw: what’s actually known

Dopium is a tablet product line sold at smoke shops and online under the cat’s-claw name — marketed as 1250mg total across a 10-tablet pack. It’s one of a wave of cat’s-claw-branded tablets that appeared after concentrated 7-OH was federally scheduled in August 2026.

We don’t know, and that’s the honest core of this page. Genuine cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) has decades of shelf history, and its named alkaloids show no measurable opioid-receptor binding in published data — which makes a plain-herb tablet an odd successor to 7-OH. We have seen no published third-party lab panel for Dopium, so we can’t tell you what’s in it. Neither can the label.

We can’t speak to any specific brand. What’s public: in July 2026, Utah Poison Control warned that some smoke-shop products labeled as cat’s claw or kava may be adulterated with scheduled kratom-derived compounds (7-OH, mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, MGM-16), and the Missouri Attorney General has opened an investigation into manufacturers in this category. Those are category-level warnings from regulators, not claims by us about Dopium — and they’re exactly why unlabeled tablets are a bad bet.

Cat’s claw the herb is legal in all 50 states. Whether any specific tablet is legal depends on what’s actually in it — a product containing scheduled compounds isn’t legal anywhere, whatever the label says. Without a published panel, that question can’t be answered from the outside.
